Week 4 of REBUILT: What Has The Team Been Doing?

Since REBUILT was announced, our team has been on the construction site, rebuilding, refining, and reusing from the past. Every sub-team has been working with our hard hats and game faces on. Let’s see the construction.

After kickoff, Strategy met to lay out the blueprint for our robot by determining design requirements and identifying the type of data to track. Since then, they have been building up information by keeping up with Chief Delphi threads and FIRST game updates.

Beginner Design has been constructing CAD models for various mounts and small subsystem changes, such as creating zip tie holes on the spindexer walls. They have also been CADing their own concepts for mechanisms, like the climber, and continuing FRCDesign.org projects. Meanwhile, Advanced Design has been putting the final bricks in place. This past week, their focus was on ensuring parts are ready to be manufactured and finalizing the shooter prototype.

Robot Code completed coding all subsystems and robot commands. Students began programming the robot Vision. Scouting Systems members are constructing the scouting app we will use at competition, giving the strategy team information to make decisions.

Business finalized our REBUILT game shirt design and impact video script. Members are starting to edit the impact video and create pin designs. Additionally, they have been posting a lot on Instagram, check it out!

Fabrication has already built all the field elements for REBUILT and tested the compression system. They are currently prototyping the spindexer and ball shooter. Electrical members have been wiring the swerve modules and drivetrain to get the robot powered.

Overall, the robot is being built piece by piece due to our construction workers. If it breaks, we call it a redesign, and it will be rebuilt with love, zip ties, and hope. We will see it all in action at our next competition in March!
